 Below are 5 tips to reap rewards points: 

1)Approval
Find out if your company allows its employees to reap the benefits of the card’s reward programs. Not every company does since rewards programs–particularly those offered by Visa and Mastercard–can cost companies more money to sign up for.

2)Sign Up
Membership in rewards programs isn’t automatic. If you have an American Express card, you or your company will have to pay a $75 sign-up fee. Other credit card companies will charge similar membership fees.

3)Research
Get online to find out what types of rewards are available. Most credit card companies provide a list of partner airlines such as the Chase Continental or the American Express Delta Skymiles, cruise companies and hotels like the Bank of America Choice Privileges which can be used at many hotels.. Some also have deals with electronics companies from Dell to Sony, while others allow you to purchase furniture from Crate and Barrel and other stores.

4)Return On Investment
It takes time to rack up rewards points, so users need to decide if their purchase is actually worth it. For instance, Kate Carson, a recruiter for Stockamp, uses her points toward high-priced flights, not short jaunts or relatively low-priced concerts or tickets to sporting events.

5)Combine Points
To reap the most of your rewards, see if you can combine points from your corporate card with your personal card. That way you can double your rewards points.
