Bank of America Scam Email- Watch Out For This!

I got an email yesterday, supposedly from Bank of America, notifying me that they detected a slight error in my account information and they asked me to update it, providing me with a link.

For a moment I thought this was real because of the images and was about to click on the link in the email when I started noticing the fishy stuff. Also, this is the first time I came across a BofA scam…they might have been floating around, but I never received them until now. However, this one was better than some other crappy scam emails I have seen in the past.

The link to update my account first went to www3.china.com then redirected. Now not everyone would detect that but knowing a lot about the internet I just happened to notice this. Also, once it redirected, it took you to a page to fill out all your personal information to update your supposed account. However, the page was not secure because there was no lock emblem and there was no ’s’ in the https.

I have provided a copy of the email below. I hope this might help others who come across it. Good Luck!
